I have Retinitis Pigmentosa myself and have a significant visual impairment as a result. The Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB) is the largest non-governmental funder of vision research in Canada. My parents were involved with the Foundation when it first began in the 60’s and the Duff family has seen the FFB grow and mature to the impressive funding organization that it is today.
Vision loss is an increasing public health problem with increasing rates of diabetes and diabetic retinopathy and increasing rates of Macular Degeneration. The Foundation Fighting blindness provides research money for scientists who are expanding the bounds of our understanding of the basic science involved in vision. There is also much research in translating the basic science into potential treatments. There is a great deal of momentum in the field and your support will help to keep this momentum going.
I sincerely thank you in advance for any contribution you can make to my ride and the Foundation!
