Spring is almost here! Of course that means the bike season is back too. And that means that I will be training again for Cycle For Sight with my new tandem partner, Paralympian, and Canada Winter Games medalist, Maya Jonas.
Most of you already know about my passion for tandem cycling and my involvement with Cycle For Sight and Trailblazers. Riding with and getting to become good friends with many outstanding people who live active independant lives in spite of their challenges is my privilidge. This is why I am participating in Cycle for Sight.
I am inspired by other riders, some who are partially-sighted or blind and who have decided to take action. The research funded by CFS is performed here in Toronto and has lead to many significant developments in the detection and treatment of eye disease.
The journey that I will be embarking on with Cycle for Sight is only a small one compared to those who live with vision loss every day. Help me support this important cause by making a donation today. I thank you in advance for any contribution you can make to my ride and the Foundation!
If you are interested in participating in this ride - either on your own or by Captaining a tandem bike, please let me know. I can connect you with other riders who need a Captain. I can also arrange an orientation ride so that you and your Stoker are properly prepared to ride together safely. Thanks for your interest and support.
