To begin, let me once again thank all of you for your generous support last year in my inaugural Cycle for Sight event participation. It is through the support of people like you that we move closer to finding cures to blindness every day!
As you might know, I have again been training/spinning all winter to prepare for this years event and even “bit the bullet” and recently bought a new bike! YIKES I'm becoming a “biker”!.
So you must be asking yourself right about now, with all the charity rides out there, why am I again participating in Cycle for Sight and what does he want from me? LOL
Well, its simple, its because I have become so inspired by the visually challenged runners that have become my friend through Achillies Canada, and in particular my good friend John Tomasino. I even bough an Italian bike called a “Tomasini” - How that for fate? John has also again decided, amazingly for his 9th year running, to take action and not sit idly around waiting for something to happen to potentially help his disability. He is participating in this exciting.
Also, because I believe that the research funded by the Foundation Fighting Blindness will lead to cures for degenerative blindness and because of Cavan (my step-son) who is visually challenged, who inspires me each and every day in all that he does.
Vision is something that is taken for granted and having an eye disease is not considered life threatening, so fundraising activities like Cycle for Sight are imperative to finding cures to these life-altering issues.
So let me cut to the chase, I am writing to you again to ask for your help by making a donation today to my event - Pleeeeeease!.
I sincerely thank you in advance for any contribution you can make to my ride and the Foundation and your support in helping me reach my goal of $3,000! Last year you helped me even exceed this goal!! Thanks again!!
Thanks everyone. Keep watching my Facebook page for more updates and wish me luck on June 24th! Wish us ALL Luck!
