Vision is something that we often take for granted. I have struggled always with difficulties in my vision. I was lucky enough to have surgery very young, glasses, then contacts to help. Last year, I had surgery again that has reduced my double vision and allowed me to continue to work and to see all the amazing things in this world.
Over 1 million Canadians are living with blinding eye diseases. There are currently no cures for these diseases and as vision fades, so too can hope. That hits so close to home, and this year Sean and I are changing our fundraising efforts. I want to thank the amazing opthalmologist who helped me and to help others. So, the ride to conquer cancer will wait a year, this year we ride for vision research.
That is why I am participating in Cycle for Sight and raising money for the Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB). It's 100km once again, a much hillier part of Ontario (ouch thighs!) and if you want to join us to ride, June 22, we would love to have you join us.
