Vision is something that we often take for granted, yet right now, over 1 million Canadians are living with blinding eye diseases. There are currently no cures for these diseases and as vision fades, so too can hope.
That is why I am participating in Cycle for Sight and raising money for Fighting Blindness Canada.
In the last few years many of you know that I have met my friend & visiaul impaired athlete John, I have been his guide in various events from charity rides to triathlons & I continue to be inspired by him daily! I have learned so much from him & enjoy helping him get out & ride a bike by being the pilot on his tandem! Through cycle for sight I have recently been connected to Michelle - another visually impaired athlete who I will be riding with for this event on June 22nd! She too has taught me lots during our training rides & we are looking forward to riding 130 KM and raising money for this great cause! I will also dedicate this ride to my brother Mark, who is also visually impared - maybe next year he can come & ride with us!
I truly believe that the research funded by Fighting Blindness Canada will lead to treatments and cures for vision loss.
The journey that I will be embarking on with Cycle for Sight is only a small trek compared to those who live with vision loss every day. Help me provide hope by donating today at the link below.
I have a goal and with your help, I know I can reach it.
I sincerely thank you in advance for any contribution you can make to my ride and Fighting Blindness Canada! Alternatively, if you prefer to sponsor me with a cheque, please download the pledge sheet and submit your donation to Cycle for Sight.
