2019 Cycle for Sight Toronto

the eyes have it

Vision is something that we often take for granted, yet right now, over 1 million Canadians are living with blinding eye diseases. There are currently no cures for these diseases and as vision fades, so too can hope.

That is why we are participating in Cycle for Sight and raising money for the Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB).

While I have done this ride several times, I am super excited this year to be joined by a number of people in my research group.  For many of these, it will be the first time in while that they are on a bike.  Others are just starting to cycle again (with new bikes!!!). For many of us, it will be the longest ride we have ever done.  We will be inspired by other riders, some who are partially-sighted, who have decided to take action and not sit idly around waiting for something to happen.

We are all vision researchers and we truly believe that the research funded by the FFB will lead to treatments and cures for vision loss.

The journey that we will be embarking on with Cycle for Sight is only a small trek compared to those who live with vision loss every day. Help us provide hope by donating today at the link below.

We sincerely thank you in advance for any contribution you can make to my ride and the FFB!
